We’ve been aware of this 5’10” guard for some time now as he was an instant impact varsity contributor at Yorktown High School as a freshman. However, now as a rising junior, he is starting to really prove that that production translates to a higher level. He has had success a a shot-maker and playmaker on the UAA Circuit with Progeny 16u earning a significant jump up to #62 overall in our Class of 2028 rankings.

Progeny UAA 16u was arguably the best team in the gym at the Prep Hoops Havoc in the Heartland. They dominated their competition all weekend long and featured several individual standouts. Zowd was a connector for his teammates consistently setting them up for open shots and then letting some scoring opportunities come to him. He is a smooth, skilled guard that is really good with the ball in his hands.

Look for Zowd to step into a larger role in Yorktown High School’s backcourt as a sophomore after getting his feet wet as a freshman. The shifty 5’10” guard played well on Sunday at the Metro Indy Fall League showcasing deep range and a smooth shooting stroke off of the dribble. Zowd was making some tough pull-up three-point shots during the time we were watching. His ability to manipulate ballscreens and put pressure on the defense from well beyond the arc will be valuable for years to come.

Zowd is a talented playmaker with a lot of creative combo moves off of the dribble that he used to consistently get two feet in the paint. He was very quick end-to-end with the ball in his hands consistently pushing the tempo in transition and making good decisions from a live dribble. Once he got into the paint, the 5’10” point guard from Yorktown High School showcased some creative finishing ability against opposing size. It was a good overall showing for him at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.
