With a strong handle that allows him to put the ball on the deck and go at defenders with regularity, tiring them out in the process and wearing them down until he gets what he wants — a bucket at the rim. A lefty, Rahe can finish at both sides of the rim. The type of player that will do whatever he needs to in order to help his team win, too, Rahe is an effort defender that will close out on three-pointers and get his hands up, plus box out and fight for rebounds with strong hands. That, and heruns the floor well, possessing ball skills he must have snagged from playing football this last year to go up and get passes before layups.

A player that’s relatively new on my radar, the more I’ve seen of Rahe, the more I’ve liked him.

With a crisp handle and quick first step to attack the basket and finish with either hand, Rahe is a combo guard that can put the ball on the deck and fire from distance in a moment’s notice. Rahe, who averaged 11 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game for Cedar Rapids Washington this summer, is an underrated, twitchy athlete that can catch and shoot, create space for himself off-the-dribble to launch from deep, and he can contort his body to finish around the rim.

He showed himself to have a nose for the ball, which allowed him to pluck many steals from opponents. He was great as an off-the-catch stationary shooter as well, with his soft touch and fast release. His ability to finish layups at high speeds also very much stood out.

He was one of the most impressive defenders I saw play this past Saturday. His IQ on defense stood out. He got in passing lanes, poked out dirbbles from behind many times, and predicted opponents’ shots and swatted them like flies. He was great on the perimeter, not allowing penetration and chasing down drivers and sending their layups out of bounds. He was no slouch on the offensive end either. He was elite scoring around the rim off of cuts, and off the catch threes were automatic for him throughout the expo. William Rahe William Rahe 6'1" | PG Cedar Rapids Washington | 2027 State IA is a two-way player, and he displayed that in spades at this event.

Rahe impressed me last season with his poise with the ball in his hands and his ability to set his teammates up. Having a pass-first guard in an event like this is always fun to watch, and he’ll be a leader on the floor for his teammates. He’s a good on-ball defender and talented passer who should thrive.
