The way Walker impacts the game for the Crusaders is special. If it’s scoring you need, he can give you 12 points per game. Need a playmaker that can set the table for Ben Whitney Ben Whitney 6'1" | CG Cardinal Gibbons | 2027 State NC , Ty Lange Ty Lange 6'3" | CG Cardinal Gibbons | 2027 State NC or Whit Gaddy Whit Gaddy 6'0" | CG/PG Cardinal Gibbons | 2027 State NC ? He can give you 5 assists per game. On top of the offense, his defensive impact may be the best on the roster. Walker has quick hands, slides his feet well and anticipates plays in the passing lanes before they happen. His ability to turn defense to easy transition layups is one of the best in the conference.

While Walker can knock down shots from the perimeter at a high clip, he’s more of a mid-range and below the rim finisher compared to his teammates. Sinking nearly 40 threes at a 38% clip is nothing to ignore but when Walker touches the paint, good things happen. He’s able to locate shooters on hammer actions as well as make drop off passes to slot cutters. The efficiency from two-point range is absurd at 59%, which further provides context for just how good he is in the mid-range. After nearly tripling his production last year, the stage is set for Walker to elevate even further this year after a successful summer with Team Sw15h.

Montague is a smart and skilled playmaking guard that has been a staple in this No Guts No Glory 17u lineup all season on the UA Rise Circuit. Coming off of a really strong High School Season at Cardinal Gibbons, Montague had a signature outing vs SWFL Hoops as he racked in 24 Points, 2 Rebounds, and 1 Assists on 9/14 shooting from the floor and 4/9 from beyond the arc. Montague’s ability to keep the offense moving at a great pace, operate as a threat to make shots from all levels, and use ball screens to create good shots for himself or others has been important in him establishing himself as a bonafide next level prospect in this 2027 class.

Montague had a great junior season at Cardinal Gibbons where he helped lead The Crusaders on a deep playoff run and he’s been building off of that momentum with No Guts No Glory UA Rise 17u. Montague is a really high level floor general and his ability to shoot it in the mid-range plus from beyond the arc allows him to operate freely with the ball in his hands. Montague has an advanced feel for the game with deep range and great footwork when pulling up for his jumper. He’s able to balance finding his own offense while being able to find offense for others with consistency and seamlessly. I fully expect Montague to garner real next level attention as he’s been a really productive player in every single setting.

Montague has been a key key piece on one of the 919s best teams at Cardinal Gibbons this season. With Gibbons at 17-2 with a 5-1 conference record, they’re enjoying one of their best seasons in recent memory. Montague is averaging 12.6 Points, 3.3 Rebounds, 4.7 Assists, and 1.6 Steals per game all on 51/34/82 shooting splits. Montague helps keep Gibbons in control all night long as they run their offense at a really high level. He’s capable of scoring from all three levels and going to get a basket for himself when the play breaks down. Montague is scrappy on the defensive end and does a great job using his timing to swing possessions at that end of the floor with steals and taking charges. Walker’s ability to run a team and score efficiently is incredibly valuable for a Cardinal Gibbons team with state title hopes!

Montague checks in at No. 10 at the point guard spot to kick things off in the latest rankings market corrections. He’s already had a strong spring with No Guts No Glory NC in showcasing his skills at the floor general spot. He’s a fundamentally sound point guard who can knock down shots on the perimeter, defend with energy and create for others in the open court. He’s a prospect with a bright future in the 2027 rankings.
