The reigning conference player of the year returns and is poised for another big year. Ben is a very high IQ guard that is an extension of Coach Brooker on the floor. He understands where everyone is supposed to be and has the playmaking to get his teammates consistent quality looks. The shooting is elite regardless of where he is on the floor. He shot 40% on nearly 150 attempts and did so in a variety of ways. From spot up attempts to off the dribble daggers, Ben was efficient and effective regardless of the action.

Playing for Sw15h Elite, he enjoyed a good summer shooting, but his downhill attacking was more effective. With teams scheming to run him off the three point line, he was able to touch the paint more to put defenses in a frenzy. Despite the size, he’s not afraid to challenge shot blockers at the rim. From pull-up jumpers to high arching floaters, Ben has it all when attacking the paint. Having a veteran guard like him to run the show raises the floor of the team. With Ben coming off such a good summer, expect him to raise his play even more this year.

Whitney showed he is ready for his heightened role and was probably the best player on the floor in Gibbons win over Cape Fear Academy on Friday Night. After a slow start for the team, Whitney used his paint touch ability to create quality looks for himself and others, leading to a complete effort and a win for Gibbons. This allowed the defense to get set where Whitney was a consistent presence in passing lanes and guarding the point of attack. Whitney can make shots off the catch or bounce, but is at his best getting downhill making plays. A true playmaking guard with high IQ and some flare, expect a big year from Whitney.

Whitney is a prospect to get to know out of Cardinal Gibbons; he’s got a knack for making things happen by staying in constant motion and around the basketball at all times; he’s shown he can knock down shots on the perimeter, clean up on the glass and make plays for others with consistency on the hardwood; he’s a prospect for DII/DIII programs in the region to get on their radar

Ultimate competitor who plays the game with a ton of tenacity especially when it comes to making plays; can knock down shots on his own or go find a rebound and find a teammate cutting to the rim for an easy bucket; can really get it going on the perimeter, shoots with confidence
