About Landon
Expert Analysis
Lonte Smith | Prep Hoops Scout
The 2030 class in North Carolina has a chance to be special. So special that players like Landon are flying under the radar. Coach Brooker is excited about the long-term potential of Landon and expects him to be fighting for a rotation spot. The first thing you notice in a short amount of watching is the supreme athleticism. Landon can jump out of the gym, evidence in the multiple above the rim finishes in the practice I attended.
Still a bit raw overall but the underlying tools are there for him to be impactful. With veteran guards all over the roster, his usage rate won’t be too high which is perfect in year one. Doing the small things like running the floor, setting good screens and protecting the rim will be what Landon is tasked with doing at a high level. He could get 6-8 points by just rim running and being an athletic finisher, especially in this offense. Expect Landon to be all over social media sooner than later with his highlight reel dunks. As the season progresses, he will continue to develop into a pivotal piece for the Crusaders.

Landon Moore Landon Moore 6'5" Cardinal Gibbons | 2030 NC is another player whose physical tools can create problems around the basket.
My notes from Day 2 were simple:
Lengthy frame. Can explode at the rim. Nice touch around the basket.
That’s a useful combination.
The length gives him a natural advantage around the rim, but the touch is what caught my attention. Finishing isn’t simply about jumping higher than everyone else. At this level, having different ways to finish once you get there becomes important.
Landon showed that he can get downhill and finish with more than just power.
Boog’s Take: The length gets you interested. The touch keeps you watching. That’s what I want to see more of from Landon as his perimeter game continues to develop.

Moore brings a physical element that immediately translates when he gets moving toward the basket. His length and frame create problems for defenders, while his explosion allows him to turn downhill opportunities into finishes at the rim. What makes the profile more interesting is the touch he showed around the basket. Moore doesn’t have to rely solely on athleticism to finish possessions, giving him another tool to work with as his offensive game continues to develop.
