Walters graduated from Clayton a few months ago but made the decision to to a post-grad year at NC GBB under Coach Austin who has coached him with No Guts No Glory the last couple of years. After a super strong season with that group on the UA Rise Circuit where he had a legit MVP case along with his production at DMV Live for this NC GBB team, it was easy to slot him in there amongst the top five as he makes his 2027 rankings debut. Walters is a high octane wing with the ability to make any play on the floor while possessing tremendous athletic upside and versatility on the defensive end of the floor. Walters has improved his outside touch and off hand finishing tremendously over the last 10-12 months to make him an even more complete offensive player. He’s a guy that can make a push for the top spot this season as he makes a real splash into the top five after joining this 2027 class.

Walters continues his rise as a very high level prospect since his reclassification to 2027 and that was on full display with No Guts No Glory throughout the entire Spring and Summer on the UA Rise Circuit. He had multiple big outbursts in the month of July with a monster 32 Point eruption where he did that on 12-15 shooting from the floor. As Walters has become a more confident all around player, he’s able to truly shine as he’s showing continued growth in his ability to make plays for others, connect on outside shots, and finishing with his off hand above the rim. Look for Walters recruitment to continue to pop and him to land near the top in these 2027 rankings.

If there was an exact replica article talking about this from a national scope it would be a glaring omission if Walters name wasn’t included. Walters continues to progress as a player every single time we see him and the extra HS year at NC GBB is exactly what the basketball doctor ordered as he’s emerging as a guy that’s getting real national attention. Walters and this GBB team had a mini tour up and down the Mid Atlantic region as he proved to be a cut above the rest of the competition. The athletic pop, alpha approach, and non-stop motor grab your attention with his outside touch and ability to make plays keeping you locked in whenever you view Walters. He’s proving to be a really high level player and it’ll be very interesting to see where he stacks up in the next 2027 update now that he’s a member of that class.

-Probably my favorite 2-way player from the weekend at any of the events that I attended, Walters’ impact at both ends of the floor was noticeable for a GBB team with some new pieces that are still working out the kinks. Walters balanced a rollercoaster shooting performance in the first game by being a menace both on and off the ball at the defensive end of the floor as a disruptive wing prospect capable of guarding all 5 spots vs Pallotti. In the second contest against BL- Walters got it going at the offensive end of the floor to show the full arsenal of skills by knocking down jumpers off the catch, finishing lob dunks in transition, crashing the glass for putbacks, and finishing around the rim with finesse with either hand. The work ethic continues to chip away at his weaknesses as a ball-handler, and once he is able to run the break or maneuver through traffic without turning the ball over– his college interest will continue to pick up as a scholarship-level guy to watch in 2027.

Walters will be exploring a prep year as he has made the decision to reclassify to the 2027 class and it looks like it will be a perfect move for him as he’s already starting to establish momentum with his performances. He’s off to a great start with his No Guts No Glory NC UA Rise 17u team and they had a great weekend at the Phenom Hoops Grassroots TOC this past weekend. Walters is a kid we really liked even as a 2026, the reclassification gives him more time to craft his skillset into the best player he can be. As he becomes more and more confident in his off hand while showing his growth as a jump shooter, his physical gifts will only shine brighter. Walters will likely have many post grad programs seeking him out and he’ll only build more momentum with college coaches if he can perform like this at the UA Rise sessions later on this spring/summer.

Even tho they came up short the 6’6ish wing showed a slightly more improved arsenal in the scoring department from all three levels of the floor. He knocked down multiple shots from the perimeter, had a few nice finishes at the rim, and showed what he can do with the ball in his hands as well. Clayton has been up and down to start the season but has a college guy on the wing in blue.

Walters is a very interesting player with a lot of physical gifts and high quality traits. He’s a downhill specialist that is unstoppable going right. He’s a true switchblade defensively that can guard all five positions at the high school level. He can bully smaller wings with his strength and is a + athlete in every category. He had a really strong summer with No Guts No Glory NC where he played in a lot of different spots and was comfortable doing so. A truly versatile prospect that is getting some recruiting traction but should start to see more as the season progresses.

Walters is a 2026 prospect due to have a big senior year at Clayton High; he’s a downhill wing who can also dial it up as a playmaker and perimeter threat with length and athleticism; as he continues to show he can handle ball pressure and make good things happen when given opportunities, look for DII/DIII programs in the region to hone in on him

An explosive forward/wing who’s just coming into his own with No Guts No Glory NC ; he’s a versatile presence who flies around the floor making things happen; he’s shown he can knock down shots on the perimeter as well as operate in the painted area; a pest defensively who loves to get easy steals for dunks

– Walters impressed throughout the weekend as a bouncy wing prospect that can guard 2-4 at the HS level while doing a solid job on the other two positions. The junior finished with a productive 14p 5r 3b stat line vs Sidwell, protecting the rim from the helper’s spot while knocking down open perimeter looks and finishing his chances above the rim. Walters also finished with 15p on 71% shooting vs John Marshall, displaying the athleticism to show that he belonged on the court against the nationally-ranked VA team filled with Division 1 talent. If he can take advantage of his change of speeds and raw athleticism to move to space more often as an off-ball cutter, I wouldn’t be surprised to see his recruitment pick up.
