About Terrynce

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a versatile 6'7" power forward/center who dominates the paint but can also step out for mid-range shots. I have a strong basketball IQ, excel in rebounding, blocking, and setting screens. I’m unselfish, coachable, and always focused on creating opportunities for my team both offensively and defensively.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m relentlessly driven, coachable, and always give 110%. Adversity has shaped me into a resilient, positive person, dedicated to constant improvement. I value teamwork, respect others, and believe in giving back to my community. My goal is to excel and inspire others both on and off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m active in my school’s art club, exploring graphic design. I volunteer with my mother, making meals for homeless families, a cause close to me as we were once homeless. Though I haven't received formal awards, I believe the true reward is in providing hope and compassion to others. This experience has taught me the importance of giving back, which I carry with me on and off the basketball court

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed leadership and teamwork as an AAU team power forward, always uplifting teammates. Volunteering taught me compassion and humility. I’m disciplined, goal-oriented, and focused on giving back, making me a strong, well-rounded player and individual who strives to be a role model.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

On top of having been homeless in the past, losing my 18 year old cousin to gun violence, whom inspired my basketball journey, was a major challenge. Instead of letting grief consume me, I used it as motivation to honor him. His memory fuels my drive to succeed, teaching me resilience and perseverance. I’m committed to achieving my goals in his honor.

What type of college are you looking for?

I seek a college with a strong basketball program that values hard work and player development. Academically, I want a school with a graphic design program. I’m looking for a team that feels like family, where I can grow as a player and a person while contributing to a winning culture. I'm hopeful this will set me up for a professional career in Basketball beyond college.

Burnett averaged 4.2 points per game for Westminster last season, but his summer showed just how much his game has grown. He’s developed a versatile offensive arsenal and able to make plays in multiple ways. He cuts hard to the basket, attacks the paint with confidence and finishes through traffic. He’s also polished his off ball movement, coming off screens with purpose to create open looks, and his three point shot keeps defenses honest. This season expect Burnett to be a more consistent scoring threat, impacting games with his smart movement, scoring versatility, and ability to stretch the floor while elevating his team’s offensive rhythm
