Elbe started the game off with hitting a circus and-one shot that left him with a shocked look on his face when it went in but got the crowd going. He was crashing the boards for his team but had a battle on his hands all night against two tall opposing players. He is a player that can stretch the defense with his three ball and he got that going early which set him up later to pump fake and get an easier midrange shot. He has a good touch from midrange and was scoring on all three levels. Towards the end of the game he was able to push the break and started finishing inside.
Highlights
Karter Christensen
Karter Christensen
Christensen was a player that created a spark off the bench for his team that got them back into the game against Mondo Athletics. His high intensity was what jumped out and he had some great on ball pressure, getting up on the ball handler and making him uncomfortable. He forced some turnovers this way and was pushing the pace in transition, where he was getting the ball inside and was finishing at the rim. He also showed good vision with kicking it to his open teammates on his drive instead of forcing the shot.
Terrynce Burnett
Terrynce Burnett
Burnett was a force in the paint on defense and was clogging it up the entire game. He started the game strong getting some blocks, altering shots and pulling down the boards early. He really made it difficult in the early stages for Triple Threat to get going. He made his presence felt on both ends of the court being able to get the offensive boards and getting some second chance points for his team. He looks good athletically, can get up and down the court, he had a nice 360 layup that got the crowd involved. He was the top rebounder of the night and will be a player to watch moving forward.
Dennis Ross
Dennis Ross
Ross works well with his running mate Terrynce Burnett and they fed well off of each other. He was also a big presence on the boards and made it difficult to get things going in the paint for the opposing players. He has good handles and looks comfortable bringing the ball up the court in transition. He does show some touch as he was able to knock some shots down from the outside. His handle helps him be able to drive past defenders and get into the paint where he was finishing at the rim or getting contact and going to the charity stripe.
Jason Lomosi
Jason Lomosi
Lomosi stood out with his ball handling ability just having a tight handle and having to do battle as a big for his team. The offense was running through him and he was able to do it all. He was scoring in the paint, beating his matchup with speed and then finishing at the rim. He was able to create his own shot and that opened it up for his teammates that were getting some easy looks at the basket because of it. He opened up the offense and was dropping dimes to his teammates throughout the night.
Matt Martinez
Matt Martinez
Martinez and his team had two games and he was able to standout in both of those games. He was battling in the post with taller players all night and was active on the defensive end. He is a player with speed and he used that speed to blow past defenders on multiple occasions, getting inside the paint and finishing at the rim. On the defensive end he has good court presence and baits the ball handler into throwing passes and then jumps the passing lanes when they do. His activeness in the scoring column and solid defensive performance helped his team finish 2-0 on the night.
