Romero is the engine that keeps Westminster’s offense humming, and this season he’s poised to take that role to another level. Running the point he controls the tempo with confidence and keeps defenders guessing every trip down the floor. His ability to drive and finish makes him a constant threat in the paint, and once he gets downhill, it’s tough for anyone to stay in front of him. Add to that his court vision that lets him thread passes and find open shooters in the corner. If defenders sag off he’ll make them pay from deep without hesitation with great accuracy. Romero is dynamic, fearless and will be one that’s tough to guard this year
Romero has developed into an efficient shotmaker with Westminster, comfortable scoring versus contests and handling the ball against aggressive defenses. Putting up 14 points per game while converting 43% of his attempts from distance. As well a dependable scorer off of two feet, he has worked on his consistency operating off of two feet, both as a shotmaker and passer.
Romero kept his opponents on their heels, quick to attack the rim off the rip. Although not the biggest guard, he was especially active drawing contact at the rim, keeping defenders honest at all times. Defensively, he did well to lead opponents into help or tough angles around the rim.
Romero showed promise setting up the team’s halfcourt offense. Often setting up post players with well placed passes, directly creating advantages on the offensive end.
He was a player that had some good vision being able to see the court when making cuts. He was able to hit the 3 ball at times which helped stretch the court for his teammates to drive.
