Lopez asserted himself on offense and constantly made plays on defense. He looked for his shot early and often, unafraid to pull-up from far behind the three-point line or quickly fire home a three if/when he caught the ball in rhythm. Lopez kept that same energy on defense too. He ignited transition offense by grabbing defensive rebounds and jumping passes for steals.

When the Cavaliers faced Sun Valley on Friday afternoon, they managed to jump out to a big lead early thanks to a hot start from Lopez. He got on the scoreboard instantly with a corner three, followed by a one-dribble pull-up from the free throw line. His energy was infectious too, hustling for rebounds and diving for loose balls. Lopez then got to the paint off the catch for a layup and drilled his second to three so put the Cabs up by 19 and to score 10 points himself before halftime.
