Expert Analysis
Chad Graham | Prep Hoops Scout
Spotlight Skill: Playmaking. Carey II doesn’t simply make routine plays as a passer: he makes plays all over the floor. At just the right time, he throws a teammate open in transition or jumps out of nowhere to pick-off a pass.
Area for Growth: Pain Touches. While he frequently gets to the second level of the defense and is effective getting to the rim off the catch, Carey II could stand to get there more often off the bounce. Creating consistent paint touches for himself would enable him to threaten teams as a score, balancing out his pass-first tendencies.

A two-way competitor who gives energy to his team, Carey II generated opportunities for the Cavs with his defense and his all-around hustle. He gathered loose balls and snagged passes out of the air to kickstart the transition attack. In his element, as well as off of offensive rebounds, Carey II kept his head on a swivel to find open teammates streaking to the rim and/or flashing on the perimeter. The events he constantly created were pivotal in Mtown’s run to the Crozier League title.
