Will Armishaw | Prep Hoops Scout
Dolan, a guard out of Austin Preparatory School in Massachusetts, checks in at #21 among the point guards and #108 overall in this rankings update. The 6’0″ lefty can really shoot the basketball and already does a nice job of leveraging his shooting to open up driving lanes. He’s a good athlete that plays with some wiggle off the bounce and shows creativity as a finisher around the rim. On the other end of the floor, he can really sit in a stance and defend, making him one of the better point of attack defenders in this point guard group. Dolan will plays this spring and summer with the Middlesex Magic.

Dolan was extremely impressive in Middlesex Magic’s win against Rivals Elite yesterday. The lefty guard makes awesome passes and is always under control, but he also lights it up from three and made some really nice drives to the rim. He just has an all-around skillset offensively and understands how to play the game, which is extremely valuable as a 6-foot point guard. But he also competes hard on the defensive end and was able to stonewall a good number of drives from a variety of players yesterday. He’s strong, laterally quick, and tough. Dolan should play a larger role on Austin Prep next year and will be a solid college prospect when the time comes.

I liked his spacing and movement without the ball in a team filled with guards. Pushes the ball with tempo and speed. A nice little southpaw stroke from deep but what’s impressive was his one-handed outside hand passes. Not afraid to grab rebounds at his size and terrific off the ball defender.
