Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Olasode has steadily improved his game over the last year or so, and it’s paying dividends for him. The 6-foot-8 forward really surprised me with his passing vision out of the post during an open gym that I watched this past month, and he even stretched out his range to the three-point line on a couple of occasions. He has great size and strength, he runs the floor well, and he’ll probably be the best rebounder on Brooks’ squad this season. He’s going to control the paint on both ends and should find a D3 fit when the time comes.

Olasode is part of a crowded Brooks School big man rotation, but he probably sits at the top of it after a solid weekend at the Prep Classic. The 6-foot-8 forward is big and powerful and does a good job using his physicality to make his presence felt on the court, but he also showed some flashes of nice post moves that he didn’t have when I saw him during fall open gyms. Olasode runs the floor for the entire game and does a good job defending guards and wings on the perimeter when he’s switched out onto them, too. I could see him being a key player for Brooks this season.

Olasode comes from Richmond, Texas where he was a standout big man. The 6-foot-8 forward is incredibly gifted physically, and he shows some ball handling and shooting flashes that should really intrigue coaches at all levels. He looks like he’s ready to play college basketball right now in terms of his upper body, and he’s only a junior, so he has a lot of time to continue developing his skills. Regardless, he should man the paint for Brooks this season and will affect virtually every shot taken at the rim. Definitely keep an eye on how Olasode grows this year, both physically and skill wise.

Olasode, originally from Texas, transferred into the Brooks School and cracks the rankings at #79. An athletic forward with a budding skillset, Olasode has impressive physical tools including a plus wingspan and good instincts on the defensive end of the floor. He’s a switchable defender in ball screens actions and provides a presence around the basket as a rim protector. On the other end of the floor, he runs well in transition and has the ability to score through contact at the rim. He’s hard to guard off the bounce and has extended his range out to the three point line. He’s still a little raw, but with next level physical gifts, a high motor, and a willingness to work, he has a high ceiling as a prospect.
