Walford, a guard out of the Brooks School in Massachusetts, thrives as a two-way playmaker that can really shoot the ball. At 5’11” with long arms, he’s a capable perimeter defender that plays with good lateral mobility and the ability to jump passing lanes to create turnovers. Offensively, he impressed this winter as an off-ball shot maker, showing deep range on his jumper and the ability to get it off against most defenders. He’s got a quick first step, has the ability to finish over size at the rim, and has developed his game off the bounce when attacking closeouts.

Walford comes from Foxborough High School, where he was a standout player last year and earned himself a Hockomock League All Star spot. The 5-foot-11 guard will probably be one of Brooks’ best shooters this season; he’s always ready to shoot on the catch and consistently knocks down shots from the three point line. He can get to some pull up threes and mid ranges, too, but he does his best work off the ball. Walford won’t over dribble, and he’ll always make the simple decision that’s best for his team. Defensively, he competes incredibly hard and guards for 94 feet. Probably a D3 player.

Walford, now at the Brooks School, joined the Class of 2027 upon transferring and breaks into the rankings at #134. A heady combo guard, Walford has some wiggle off the bounce and the ability to finish with length at the rim. He does a nice job of getting by the initial defender in isolation situations and uses a variety of crafty finishes to score over size in the paint. He makes good reads out of ball screens, can quick change directions off the bounce, and makes tough shots in the mid-range. On top of that, he’s a quality three point shooter that can get them off in catch and shoot situations or off the bounce. Defensively, he guards in the full court, making it hard for opposing ball-handlers to get a piece of the paint off the bounce.
