Tying Denson for high point honors for the Bombers with 19, Henderson biggest point scored was his final one. With a few seconds left in a tied game, he was fouled on an inbound pass. The senior would hit the first free throw to break the tie and send the Bombers to the Class 5A semifinals. For the first 18 points he scored, it was a strong representation of Henderson’s overall game. Especially with his ability to get cooking off the dribble off the dribble. But he’ll need to improve his perimeter shooting, as he was credited as 2-8 from three in the box score.

Last year Henderson was quietly one of the better scorers in the state for a Midwest City team that struggled to string together wins. It’s only early January and the Bombers have already matched last year’s win total of 6. Henderson is still getting buckets, but it’s less one on one and more in the flow of the offense. He’s playing off his teammates and hitting big catch and shoot jumpers. While still showing off some occasional flashes of his big time iso game. Which is most evident on drives, as he’s a strong finisher around the rim. The senior had a team high 17 points.

The game watched from the GASO was not one of Henderson’s better scoring performances. While he was active in getting to his spots in the mid-range, his jumper wasn’t falling at his usual proficiency. He did finally break through with a great iso move, that left the defender in a blender, and him nailing a 12 foot turnaround. In the second half, RSE pushed it more in transition and Henderson’ dynamic finishing ability and even some good passing instincts were showcased. When the 2024 combo guard isn’t focused on just scoring on drives, he has sneaky good vision and creation ability. His ability to get downhill can create hockey assist type opportunities for his teammates from three.

In clear out iso situations, Henderson is one of the most dangerous scorers in this class. He has a compact bulldog like frame with good short awareness quickness. Combined with those athletic traits are a tight handle and quick release off the dribble which makes him a walking bucket. From finding ways to score at the rim, to contested threes, Henderson has a microwave type quality that often leads to “he’s on fire” moments.

RSE picked up a win against a bigger Colorado squad and the dynamic off the bounce abilities of Henderson were a big reason why. The score first guard lived getting downhill with his great combination of tight handles and strong core. He’s a compact player, who takes contact very well, allowing him to be an outstanding finisher at the rim. His drives were very controlled with a mixture of pull ups and also a very promising development. He showed improved vision and playmaking instincts, often kicking it out to open shooters, creating potential assists or hockey assists.
Henderson has scoring in his DNA, that will always be his primary trait. But his improving vision and decision making are vital for the combo guard’s prospects at the next level.

has the type of offensive game that will seeing him scoring in pick up, men’s leagues and other basketball scenarios for the next 20-30 years. And yes, his scoring translates to college. Edmond North has no shortage of guards that play quality defense and while Henderson wasn’t perfect, he still found ways to score. The junior can pull up from deep, work the midrange and has a crafty feel to finish in traffic amongst the trees. He’s an iso specialist, his turnarounds and fadeaways in midrange are at times poetic. There’s flashes as a creator with some good passes off drives, but Henderson’s primary DNA is that of an off the dribble scorer.
Scoring is always needed and because of that Henderson will likely find his way onto a college roster in fall of 2024.
