Expert Analysis
Max Wagner | Prep Hoops Scout
Reese had a big game to help lead Mound-Westonka to a win over Richfield. He had the size advantage in size, and took full advantage of it as he looked to go to work with his back to the basket. Showcased solid footwork to create high percentage looks around the rim, and I really liked how he made sure he was going up balanced every time, instead of just trying to force up shots because he was the tallest player on the floor. That balance allowed him to power up through contact and finish through double teams. Also posed a threat from beyond the arc. On the opposite end he was rebounding the ball hard, making sure his team was ending Richfield’s possessions after one shot. Not going to impress anyone with explosive athleticism or flashy handles, but Reese goes out and produces with his shooting touch and high level of effort in the paint. Finished with 17 points.

Reese caught fire from deep in the tight loss against Anoka. The senior forward was lethal in the catch-and-shoot in the corner and on the wings, needing to be accounted for at all times. He has very smooth mechanics and everything looks clean when he gets his shots off. He scored a game-high 27 points and has been the go-to guy for Mound Westonka these past couple of games with some injuries to key players. Vanderwilt is a prospect with good size and a reliable, knockdown jumper.
