Armstrong is a player we enjoyed watching multiple times this summer as he was a standout at an event with his ability to score in transition, finish inside, and play through contact, and those plays resurfaced with the addition of him showing that he could be a shotmaker as well at our Sophomore Showcase last weekend. Armstrong excels with the ball in his hands and is an active guard on the perimeter, but also cuts and finishes near the basket as well. He can take that momentum into a season where he could be a complementary piece this upcoming season, and this was an offseason of getting better and on our radar. He’s making his rankings debut this go-round. 

Armstrong showed plenty of confidence in his shot throughout the showcase especially from three, where he proved capable of making defenses pay. What stood out was how active he was without the ball. Armstrong didn’t simply plant himself on the perimeter and wait for opportunities he constantly moved, found openings and used screens to create clean looks. That movement made him tougher to track and kept the defense working every possession. Armstrong’s combination of shooting confidence and smart movement gave him a strong offensive presence

Armstrong capitalized on transition opportunities by running the floor and attacking the basket with confidence. He converted multiple finishes through contact, including several impressive and one plays that showed both strength and body control. Armstrong also displayed excellent touch around the rim, using finesse to finish over defenders rather than relying solely on athleticism. His ability to score in transition and force defensive rotations created additional opportunities for teammates and kept the offense moving. He showed the ability to rise up over defenders in the midrange as well.
