Jay Anderson | Prep Hoops Scout
Oden was another NCISAA All-State selection on the 3A stage with GRACE Christian Academy in the Raleigh area. He’s an electric floor general prospect for DI and DII programs to get eyes on after averaging 18.3 PPG, 4.2 rpg, 4.0 APG and 2.1 SPG on 47 percent shooting from the floor in his final year of high school basketball. At 6-foot-1, he’s done well to develop his strength and agility to become quite the lead guard in the Eagles’ offensive attack in 2023-24. He moves from No. 137 into the 64th spot in the final rankings update for the 2024 class in North Carolina.

Oden was the MOP of Grace Christian’s conference tournament, stuffing the stat sheet with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks in the championship game. He is a dogged warrior on the court who makes hustle plays and brings an absurd amount of intensity whenever he steps onto the floor. He’s a very well rounded point guard who can score and facilitate, and should be an impact pickup for a school next year.

remains an underrecruited combo guard in the Grace Christian School backcourt. He’s leading his team in scoring (16.6 PPG) and assists (3.6 APG) while also averaging 3.8 RPG and 1.8 SPG for the Eagles, who’ve won their last five games and are 8-3 on the season. He produced 24 points (11-19 FG), four rebounds, three assists and two steals in a victory over St. Thomas More Academy this past Tuesday. Monday night, they’ll have a big challenge on their hands when they face Ravenscroft School and he’ll certainly be a player to watch. DII programs in the region would be wise to get eyes on him.

is a point guard that has really come along as a scorer and playmaker this grassroots season with
Team Wall
. He’s a shifty lead guard that can score points with efficiency and find others in space to do the same. As he shows he can make things happen defensively this season with Grace Christian in the NCISAA ranks, look for his stock to grow on the recruiting trail.

Oden had himself a busy first half as his aggressiveness kept the Eagles close in the first half. He post 12 of his 15 points in the first half as he showed he could get to the paint and finish in traffic on numerous occasions. As he learns to be consistent for two halves, look for his recruitment to grow in the 2024 class.
