Ericson makes a big leap in the combo guard space as he moves from No. 128 to Top 50 at 48th in the latest 2026 rankings update. He’s a combo guard prospect for DI and DII programs in the region to look into. He’s leading Mooresville High this season with his ability to knock down shots from distance. Ericson is averaging 15.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists on 41 percent shooting from behind the arc in his junior season. He’s knocked down a team-high 53 3-pointers from deep as he looks to propel the Blue Devils in the Greater Metro Conference.

This kid is one of the most improved in the entire state over the last 12 months, transforming from a JV kind of kid to a legitimate scorer/shooter at the high school and on the grassroots circuit. He shoots the cover off the ball and is always hunting the right shot, sometimes being so unselfish because he wants a better one. Gotten a lot better as a decision maker and being able to handle the ball, rather than just being a run off screens kind of guy. He’s torched the nets for PSB this cycle and will be a major jumper in our rankings next update.

Ericson continues to be a rising star in the Mooresville rotation, leading the team with 15 points in a blowout over AL Brown and 21 over rivals Lake Norman on Friday. He is an electrifying shooter with a quick release that is hard to guard, and gets a lot of plays ran for him to just knock down shots. He plays hard on defense, does the hustle work, and also brings infectious energy. Next up in his development is becoming a more efficient ballhandler and playmaker, but the Blue Devils will need his shooting right now to compete in the state tournament.
