Wilson helped bring Mooresville to a State Championship appearance in what many considered an upset win over powerhouse North Mecklenburg. In the 55-52 win, Wilson finished with 13 Points, 7 Rebounds, 1 Assists, and 1 Steal on 5-8 from the floor and 3-3 from the free throw line. Wilson’s ability to capitalize on his touches and help his team close out possessions was incredibly valuable in this absolute war of a game that really showed what this Mooresville team is made of. His toughness, motor, and ability to be impactful while off the ball are his true calling cards. He didn’t showcase it in this game but he can make outside shots at a very respectable clip. His impact defensively is incredibly noticeable as well. He’s a no brainer next level kid and is enjoying an incredible last stand at Mooresville who will be facing Southern Durham in the 7A state championship later this week.

Wilson is on a team that wins a lot of games with a ton of balance offensively at Mooresville but his steady production directly translates to success for this team and it’s about time he gets some more recognition for the work he’s been putting in. Mooresville is 18-2 on the season and Wilson has been consistently helping his team get these wins with his versatile game. He’s averaging 12.8 Points, 5.9 Rebounds, 1.6 Assists, 1.9 Steals, and 1.3 Blocks per game. He’s doing all of that on 51/34/61 splits as well. Wilson is a classic glue guy+, he does all of the dirty work but possesses the skill level to be a consistent primary producer for this team He’s making himself known as a physical and productive player with a great foundational skillset. He should continue to garner more buzz if Mooresville can get on a deep playoff run in the NCHSAA 7A division.
