Expert Analysis
Mark Miller | Prep Hoops Scout
Jacob impressed the coaches at the WBY Camp on Sunday with his leadership qualities and on-court communication. He also performed well at the point-guard position for this team, looking to set up his teammates as often as possible while also capitalizing on his own scoring chances. Jacob started for Oregon as a junior, and his skill and intangibles figure to be huge for the Panthers in 2025-25, particularly with 2026 wing Vaughn Karvala (6-7) recently announcing he would be spending his senior season at a prep school in Phoenix.

A very good spot-up shooter with a quick release and the ability to move exceptionally well without the basketball in his hands, Jacob spaces the floor very well for Oregon. If defenders sag off of Jacob in order to slow Karvala and Co. from driving to the basket, the talented junior shooting guard can spot up and hurt opponents with his accuracy from deep. He five field goals, two three-point baskets and went three-of-three from the foul line on the way to scoring 15 points against Milton.

Out of Oregon High School and playing for Granite Basketball 2026 at the Midwest Showdown, Nicholas was the epitome of “clutch” in a matchup with Bradley Elite 2026-2 on Saturday afternoon. He hit two quick triples and a layup in the closing minutes of the first half for Granite in a highly contested game. Throughout the second half he dropped dimes, grabbed rebounds, scored from all three levels and forced turnovers. An unselfish point guard, who will take the shot if it’s there, Nicholas provided the fuel for an overtime win, draining a three, a free throw and a layup in the extra frame.
