If you are looking for a high-level rebounder and one of the best shot blockers in the state, look no further than this 6’6″ unsigned senior center from Decatur Central High School. Norton was a big part of sending the Hawks to the Class 4A South Semi-State this season. He averaged 6.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game. Norton is a great JUCO option.

This was my first time seeing the athletic big man from Decatur Central. He’s a fluid athlete that competes on both ends of the floor. Most of his scoring comes off garbage buckets, but showed soft touch on his post up attempts. High level rebounder with a big time motor that attacks the glass with wreckless abandon. Defensively he’s a switchable defender that can guard all over the floor for a short period. Hes an aggressive rim protector that does a good job staying vertical.

Someone at the next level is going to get really lucky by landing an excellent under-the-radar center. Norton is super bouncy as proven by multiple dunks and blocked shots on Tuesday night. However, he is also a beast on the boards and is very willing to excel in his role. His motor really stood out. Norton went on to finish with 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots for Decatur Central. Definitely could be a good Junior College candidate.

We had the opportunity to see Norton play recently when attending Decatur Central High School open gym. Norton really stands out as a rebounder and rim protector. He does a great job of going to get the ball outside of his area and can play above the rim both as a finisher and shot blocker. As his skill level continues to develop he could really breakout into a high-upside interior presence. The 6’6″ center is a good candidate for the prep school or junior college route in order to round out his game.

Another very athletic interior presence, Norton turned plenty of heads with his play at the Charlie Hughes Showcase for Decatur Central High School. The 6’6″ center is an above the rim player at both ends of the floor. Whether he is rim-running, exploding out of the dunker’s spot, or blocking shots on the defensive end his athleticism impacts the game at all times. Norton makes his debut in our Prep Hoops Indiana Prospect Rankings at #123 overall.
