Miles Masercola | Prep Hoops Scout
Williams has really evolved into a full time PG that helps this Cary Academy team push the pace at a very high level. He’s a pest defensively with his excellent anticipation into passing lanes leading to quick baskets for his team. Williams didn’t show it a ton in this game but he can really make outside shots which forces the defense to press up onto him. Williams was simply in control of this one for the vast majority of it and made sure to guide his team to the win. Final Stats: 9 Points, 4 Rebounds, 3 Assists, 2 Steals, 4-8 FG, 1-2 3PT.

Williams has been a consistent producer in North Carolina in every setting we’ve seen him whether it be travel ball or on the high school side of things. Cary Academy is 11-12 on the season but have found their winning stride in conference play where they’re 4-1 thus far. Williams is averaging 14.8 Points, 5.1 Rebounds, 3.4 Assists, and 1.5 Steals per game as a senior. He’s doing all of that on 44/38/80 splits proving he’s an efficient player from all over the floor. Williams has deep range off the catch or bounce, good size for a PG, and uses his length to disrupt other guards on the perimeter defensively. Williams will greatly benefit from a college weight lifting program and as that frame bulks up he’ll only get better and more productive. Expect Williams to help make Cary Academy a really tough out in the NCISAA playoffs and potentially help them go on a cinderella run, they have the kind of pieces to pull it off.

Williams has been a consistent presence in the area as a shotmaking guard with the ability to make plays for himself and others off the bounce. He’s an elite student as well which should help him in recruiting. Williams can play both on or off the ball, he’s a smart player that can flourish within a system or a wide open style. He’s slowly added strength to his frame over the years and that’s led to improved production. Cary Academy has played a really tough schedule early and McCoy is averaging 20.2 PPG through this stretch. A really high level student athlete that should garner more attention here soon.

Williams was another name to know with BSM Waka Flocka Flame’s backcourt. He’s quite the floor-setting presence with BSM given his ability to knock down shots and attack the paint and find others in space. He wasn’t afraid to snag rebounds and make things happen quickly on the fastbreak. He’s a combo guard prospect for DI and DII programs in the region to get to know over at Cary Academy.

Williams is emerging as quite the two-way presence on the floor no matter the setting for BSM on the independent scene. He’s an athletic lead guard who can operate as a facilitator and scorer given his prowess for making plays for others and getting paint touches within the flow of the offense. As he shows off his ability to make shots in space, look for his name to grow. He’s a name for LM/MM DI and HM DII programs to get eyes on over the next few months.

Williams has been a defensive pest for a long time, but his continued offensive development is lining up for him to become a leader of his Cary Academy squad this year. Defensively, he’s still doing what he’s always done, showing off active feet and hands and jumping opposing guards whenever they touch the ball. However he’s looked a lot more impressive on offense, which is where his game still had to improve. He’s been playing well off the dribble, knocking down perimeter shots and looking more confident taking ball screens. With the departure of

is another name out of Cary Academy joining the 2026 ranks to keep an eye on in the state of North Carolina. He’s a prospect that’s shown he can knock down the midrange shot at a high volume, regardless of the traffic in the paint. He’s a highly-skilled floor general that’s shown early signs that he can run a squad and make things happen, at least during the June Live Period. He’s a name to keep track of in the 919 area given his ability to make things happen in the backcourt.
