About Maxwell

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m an aggressive, high-IQ combo guard who plays with intensity on both ends of the floor. I take pride in being a vocal leader, getting my teammates involved, and doing the little things that help us win — whether that’s defending, rebounding, or setting the tone with energy and effort. My focus is always on staying positive, competing every possession, and doing whatever it takes to win.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is built on competition, teamwork, and leadership. I’m extremely competitive and love the challenge of going against the best, but just as much, I take pride in being a phenomenal teammate. I work hard to inspire, motivate, and elevate the players around me — bringing energy, communication, and positivity every time I step on the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Off the court, I’m an active member of my school’s Wind Ensemble, where I’ve learned the value of discipline, teamwork, and performing under pressure. I’m also part of an organization called ChandARC which focuses on raising awareness for ovarian cancer in honor of my mom, who passed away two years ago. Through this work, I’ve developed a deep sense of purpose and leadership

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’m proud to be involved with the We R1 for the Future Foundation, where I’ve helped raise over $2,000 to support youth mental wellness and mentoring programs. These experiences have taught me that leadership goes beyond basketball — it’s about using your platform to uplift others and make a lasting impact.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced was losing my mother to ovarian cancer after supporting her through a two-and-a-half-year battle. That experience tested my strength and focus but taught me powerful lessons about resilience, discipline, and perspective. Balancing school and basketball through it all helped me grow as both a player and a person, reminding me to compete with purpose and hono

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking to be part of a Division I program that values both education and athletic excellence. I want a school that pushes me to reach my full potential on and off the court — a place with strong coaching, team culture, and academic support. My goal is to continue growing as a student-athlete, contribute to a winning program, and put myself in position to play professional basketball.
