Matute’s explosiveness off the dribble stood out as he consistently beat defenders to the rim. He played with pace and was moving without the ball to open lanes for others. He was unselfish as he found cutters and made the extra pass. He was also very active defensively. What stood out to me was the way that he navigated screens and forced turnovers. Max is a creative scorer with a team-first mindset who can impact both ends, and that was on display at the event.
