Mason Zimmerman Mason Zimmerman 6'3" | SF/PG Robbinsdale Armstrong | 2028 State MN – Zimmerman is a six-foot-one-inch 2028 forward from Armstrong and Real Phenom Lincoln that displayed a good ability to his perimeter jump shots off the dribble in shot creation situations. Zimmerman hit a number of triples for Real Phenom in their win. Zimmerman has good size, and craftiness to his game also showing an ability to score from the perimeter as a ball handler and driver.

Mason had a strong performance for Real Phenom 16u, helping lead them to a win over Elevate Skills. At 6’1 he has a strong frame that allows him to play either the lead guard, or out on the wing where he has no problem defending against length. Mason did a great job of getting into the lane and using his strength to shield off defenders as he extended to finish. Throughout the game he stretched the floor from three, hit a tough mid-range pull-up, threw down a transition dunk, and dished out a handful of assists. He followed that up by immediately filling in for the shorthanded Real Phenom 17u team in the next game.

Robbinsdale Armstrong has really become a place where some hard working players come up quietly and then work hard to become impact players. Zimmerman might just be the next guy but now 6’3, he might not do it as quietly.

Mason played some varsity in that 9th/10th guy role at times last year and he played JV. Since then he’s moved over to playing with Real Phenom and has had a fantastic season. This past weekend Mason just had a 32 point game for his Real Phenom 16u team beating the Heat Gedeon team. The beautiful thing about what Zimmerman did this weekend was that his all out effort came from the offense size AND the defensive end.

Mason has a burst going by players and that quickness often ranks with the best on the floor.
