Expert Analysis

Martinez is one of those players you notice on the court because he’s always in motion and always making something happen. His cuts are sharp and purposeful and he has a real gift for slipping behind defenses at the perfect moment. Once he gets the ball he can finish with a pull up or soft floater, which makes him tough to slow down around the rim. On the defensive end he brings tight, disciplined defense with pressure that wears opponents down over the course of a game. This season we expect Martinez to shine as a high energy, high impact piece who boosts his Windsor team with effort, smart movement and a relentless approach on both sides of the floor

Martinez didn’t get much playing time in the semifinals, but when he was on the court, you definitely see what’s going to make him a standout next season. In the championship game, he mostly came in as a defensive sub, and that’s where his physicality really stood out. He’s relentless, especially in the full court press. Martinez hounds the ball carrier, applying so much pressure that it leads to turnovers and forces bad offensive decisions. What really caught my eye was his quick step and the way he takes smart angles on defense. He’s always in the right spot to make a play, and it’s that combination of speed and defensive IQ that’ll make him a huge asset moving forward. It’s clear that, with more time, he’s going to develop into a key player
