It’s actually been a while since we’ve seen Williams, but that’s part of what makes his addition interesting. He was one of the first 2030 prospects to really catch my attention in the spring, and the evaluation stuck. Williams was already playing up, yet his size wasn’t the only reason he belonged. He operated comfortably from the high post, made reads, screened, showed mid-range touch and understood how to function within structure. Now I want to see how all of that translates at Windsor. The adjustment for a young big is significant because varsity players are stronger, more physical and won’t allow him to rely on size alone. He’ll have to rebound consistently, defend without fouling, run the floor and learn how to create advantages against bigger bodies. If Williams can handle those responsibilities, his feel and versatility could eventually give him a path to minutes. Whether that happens immediately or takes time, he’s a prospect I’m looking forward to seeing again.

Williams brings a fundamentally sound approach with size and versatility that shows up in multiple areas of the game, and I was a bit surprised to see that he’s a class of 2030 playing up and standing out. He’s comfortable operating out of the high post; he makes reads, sets screens, and plays within structure. Williams has reliable midrange touch and runs the floor well. He’s also not afraid to use his body to create space and rebounds with purpose. Williams is a steady presence whose feel and fundamentals give him long-term value, and it was good to get him on our radar early.
