Expert Analysis
Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Short is a fascinating prospect. The 6-foot-5 forward is an above the rim athlete and has excellent strength, quickness and explosiveness for his size and age. His shot looks a bit wonky, but he’s able to hit it occasionally off the bounce, and he’s learning how to make decisions at a faster level. He’s going to really develop this season with Dexter, where he’ll probably get some minutes off the bench and will be able to go against bigger and stronger players consistently in practice. Keep an eye on Short moving forward — he could be a scholarship prospect in a couple years.

Read EvaluationWill Armishaw | Prep Hoops Scout
Short, a talented two-way wing out of the Dexter Southfield School in Massachusetts, makes his first appearance in the rankings at #21. A well-built 6’4″ forward, Short plays with impressive athletic pop on both ends of the floor. He’s got a good motor and isn’t afraid to give up his body to be the first to the floor for 50/50 balls or to take charges. Defensively, he can guard up and down a line-up with his combination of positional size, athleticism, length, and physicality. Offensively, he has the ability to score at multiple levels, but is best in catch and shoot situations from behind the arc and when finishing around the rim.
