About Laila

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’ve been referred too by many in my area as a game changer. I’m a career 58% 3pt shooter and can shoot well beyond the college line at a high clip. I’m tough on defense and can hold my own with the best of them.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is simple, I’m a competitor and I bring a winning dynamic to any team I’m apart of. My personality off the court is shy unless I know you but on the court I’ve been told that I don’t show too much emotion whether good or bad and I’m very composed.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve been a varsity starter since 7th grade, and have been to 4 consecutive State tournaments and being crowned State Champion twice along with other accolades so I’d like to think I bring a winning attitude and work ethic to understand what it takes to achieve that level of success.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

July 2024 I tore my ACL during AAU and it caused me to miss my sophomore season. The grind of getting back fully healed was tough and humbling, but I did however return during tournament time to help lead my team to state but i also wasn’t myself completely. Now that I’m fully healed I’m ready to reclaim my spot as one of the top girls in the area.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that’s going to first allow me the opportunity to compete at the next level. I’m also looking for a school that’s going to allow my game to grow and flourish in a winning culture but also give me a fair opportunity at earning my minutes. I’m also interested in the atmosphere of the campus.
