Seltzer, a big man out of the Williston Northampton School in Massachusetts, checks in at #4 among the centers and #32 overall in this update. The 6’11” big man plays with some versatility on the offensive end of the floor and continues to attract the attention of low-major Division I programs, recently securing an offer from Iona. He’s a plus athlete that has the ability to finish with authority around the rim, is a fluid mover that can operate as a roller or pop guy out of ball screens, and also shows the ability to knock down shots out to the three. Defensively, he has some impressive physical tools that allow him to defend inside and out, rebound in traffic, and protect the rim when coming over from the help side. Seltzer will run this spring and summer with New Heights NYC.

Seltzer impressed with his offensive skills and shows to have progressed since the last time I evaluated him. His great touch around the bucket was seen throughout and showed he could score around the short porch with his mid-range. He was in good spots to secure rebounds. Seltzer led WNS in scoring with a team high. He used his length to alter shots. Seltzer is a prospect who should see recruitment at the mid-major level.

Seltzer is a big with a lethal jump shot, making him a constant threat from mid-range and beyond. His smooth shooting touch forces defenders to respect him outside the paint. Inside, he showcases great footwork and patience, allowing him to score efficiently around the rim. Seltzer’s blend of size, skill, and scoring ability makes him a tough matchup for any frontcourt.

Seltzer, a talented big out of the Williston Northampton School in Massachusetts, has real two-way abilities, including a versatile offensive skillset. At 6’11”, he’s a fluid mover that covers ground quickly with long strides and uses his length to his advantage on both ends of the floor. He has a good scoring package with his back to the basket and the ability to turn and score over either shoulder. He’s a willing ball mover, can attack the rim in straight line drives, and knocks down shots in catch and shoot situations. Defensively, he’s active in ball screens and has the ability to protect the rim on the ball or from the help side.

has a really high ceiling, and it’s not hard to see why. With great length, he was making timely rebounds, swatting at shots inside, hitting compact three pointers with ease and even showed off a clean mid range post shot.

Seltzer was a constant threat from behind the arc as a floor spacer. He shoots a clean ball from deep and if his feet are set he is probably converting from deep. He also showed he can score on the interior and has a few post moves in his tool belt. I want to see Seltzer become a step quicker on the defensive end. He keeps developing every time i see him play. He is a prospect who should be on the radar of academic mid-majors.

He was quiet in the scoring column for much of BABC’s dominant run to the 16U championship, but Seltzer was vital nonetheless with his versatile frontcourt contributions while showing continued signs of progress in his development. A quintessential modern big, he contributes both inside and out on either end of the floor. Seltzer is able to space the floor offensively as a consistent shooting threat out to the arc while also scoring inside with soft hands and increasing pop as a finisher. Defensively, he’s an intimidating rim protector (especially as he continues filling out his frame) with the foot speed to hold his own stepping out onto the perimeter. His versatility and willingness to do the grunt work opens up a ton of lineup possibilities for his teams with the tools to draw interest up to the high-major level as he continues to develop.

Seltzer does a good job as an anchor for BABC. The 6-foot-10 sophomore is tough on the inside and willing to bang bodies with smaller, heavier big men. When he really commits to using his strength and bullying his way into the paint offensively, he shows incredible power and stability. His shot also looks nice and he understands how, when and where to pass the ball. Wouldn’t be surprised to see tons of low major D1 teams and D2 schools take a hard look at the Williston-Northampton big man.

Seltzer continues to develop with time and see the all the progressions he has made in the last calendar year. He found ways to be active on the boards and came up with rebounds. He thinks the game at a high level and was able to find his teammates frequently for scoring chances. Seltzer had good timing when altering shots. He showed flashes as a floor spacer and think he has the right foundations to be a stretch five. He is tracking as mid major prospect.
