We had the chance to see Jones again recently when attending Merrillville High School open gym. There are few front court prospects in the state as bouncy as he is. The 6’6″ forward/center can rise up and dunk it more like a 7-footer than a player of his size. Jones also shows the ability to step out and make open catch-and-shoot three-point shots which makes his upside pretty intriguing as well. He averaged 6.8 points per game for the Pirates as a junior, but now coming off of a strong summer should be ready to step into a larger role. Jones is very high academic as well.
