Alabama-Huntsville got an immediate impact player with Mabe’s signing. Jordan is a long and athletic forward who is capable of protecting the rim on defense or stretching the floor on offense. If he can continue to be healthy, UAH will do well to keep

South Laurel earned this victory in overtime in a gritty contest that was played in the half-court. Mabe simply willed his team to victory with his ability to score in the paint. The biggest player on the court, Mabe does an excellent job of using his frame to seal off defenders and give him room to finish at the rim. South Laurel also does an excellent job playing through their best player, an underrated skill for complimentary teammates to have. With South Laurel down three points late, Mabe hit a clutch 3-pointer to tie the game and send it to overtime, his only 3-pointer of the night. I expect Mabe to be an impact player at the college level, already committed to Alabama Huntsville, Mabe seems to have found the right level for him to play early.

Another prospect who can simply use his size to overpower defenders, Mabe is one of the toughest players to stop in the paint from Kentucky. With good touch using either hand in the paint, Mabe scored going over either shoulder in the post. Also doing a nice job of sealing the ball away from defenders on drives, Mabe uses his body as protection when going up at the rim. Another big who has delt with injuries, still working to defend on the perimeter and move his feet when he’s stretched away from the paint. Mabe helped draw a handful of coaches to South Laurel games this weekend as college coaches wanted to see where he’s at and his production levels didn’t disappoint.

When I first saw Mabe a couple of weeks ago, I was worried that the heavy knee brace he was sporting would hamper his athleticism but Jordan is still bouncy and an excellent rim protector. Coming off an ACL sprain that cost him a large chunk of his season, Mabe is still adjusting to the big brace and his stock should continue to trend up as he gets back to 100%.

A good defender and shot blocker, Jordan has had unfortunate health luck through his high school career to this point. Hopefully he gets a healthy AAU season and takes advantage of increased exposure opportunities. One thing that could really help Mabe is a bigger emphasis on his rebounding to go along with his already impressive defense and shot blocking.

Mabe is a versatile defender and one of the best rim protectors in the class. His offensive numbers continue to improve year over year and Jordan is currently averaging 18.5 points per game on 49% shooting. Hopefully he becomes a more active rebounder and elevates his game to the next level.

Jordan has high potential and has shown the ability to play inside and out on offense. An above average rim protector at the forward spot, Mabe is long and bouncy with great instincts.

The best prospect in the 2025 class that doesn’t have a D1 offer yet, Mabe is an excellent rim protector who has a versatile skill set and isn’t afraid to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim at 6’8. Jordan is also a capable shooter who continues to improve with each passing season.

Phenom United had a dominant showing on Friday and it was the best I’ve ever seen Mabe play. He was finishing at the rim with either hand at the half-court. Mabe also got an easy layup off a BLOB play that got him wide open. Looking the part physically, Mabe moves his feet well for his size. A scholarship prospect at some level, I’ll be curious to see how Mabe looks during the high school season with more of a go to scoring focus instead of the low usage role he plays on the 3SSB circuit.
