Sims is a lightning-quick point guard that puts constant pressure on defenses. His excellent ball handling, and first step, keeps defenders on their heels allowing him to create space for lightly contested pull-ups. When Sims does penetrate, he can finish through contact, but he has a knack for finding teammates in small passing windows. The Wolverines will have a dynamic backcourt this season and Sims will jump on radars with the attention his talented backcourt mate will garner. Look for Sims to draw some serious interest come the new year.

is the second Westview prospect on this list. Sims may be the toughest kid on these rankings, pound for pound. While coaches may look to write him off because of his height, they should think again. His heart and passion for the game shine. When I saw Sims play this summer with Omaha Elite, he fit right in… not only because of his elite skillset, but also because of his toughness and confidence. Last season for Westview, Sims averaged over 8 points per game, which is a lot for a Sophomore. He is crafty with the ball in his hands, and can hit really tough shots off of the bounce or the catch. Sims IV is another prospect that I expect to have a great Junior year.

Sims runs a great lead guard spot for both Omaha Westview and Omaha Elite 17u. Very solid on ball defender. Active hands in driving lanes, poking balls loose or forcing pickups. Pacey and poised ball handler, does a great job of knowing how to break defenders off and penetrate into the paint. Takes smart shots down low and has some creative small guard finishes. Very capable shooter from beyond the arc especially off the catch, and a mid range pull up threat as well.
