Treyvon Griggs Treyvon Griggs 5’9″ | PG Omaha Westview | 2024 State NE is a stud. This summer, Griggs played up and earned a ton of valuable minutes with Omaha Elite (one of the top, if not the top AAU team in Nebraska). His main job with his grassroots squad was the role of the facilitator for his fellow high level teammates. However, Griggs also showcased his scoring ability a good amount as well. He is shifty with the ball in his hands, and backs down from no one. While he could be labeled as “undersized”, his grit and toughness make him shine. Look for Griggs to have a big year at Omaha Westview.
Amari Rahaman Amari Rahaman 6’0″ | PG Millard North | 2025 State NE had a very nice summer with Nebraska Supreme . He is a consistent, steady presence who does not make a lot of mistakes with the ball. Rahaman is a physical point guard with a nice skillset offensively. He is the type of player who looks to get others involved before himself. While Rahaman did not see much action because of all the talent Millard North produces each year, he will have a much larger role this season. I look forward to tracking him this upcoming year.
Mike Ngoyi Mike Ngoyi 5’10” | PG Lincoln Southeast | 2025 State NE is a huge stock riser this summer. Ngoyi is an incredible athlete for the point guard position, as I saw him throw down some big time dunks this grassroots season. While Ngoyi has a ton of potential to be a serious prospect in this super deep 2025 class, he also has serious game. He thrives at attacking the rim and playing through contact. There are very few kids as tough and physical as Ngoyi. He is another prospect to watch this upcoming season. Last winter, Ngoyi also did not see much action because of all of the scholarship talent that was at Southeast. This year, he will see much more action, and look to contribute to winning in a big way.
I have a feeling Ammi Williams Ammi Williams 5’10” | PG Bellevue East | 2025 State NE is going to have a monster Junior season at Bellevue East. He had a great summer with NHE, and will look to use that momentum to carry over to his school ball season. Williams is a tough guard who plays the game the right way and with a chip on his shoulder. He has a nice release from the outside, and is a super physical defender. Even though he may be only listed at 5’10, he plays much bigger than his size. While I was only able to watch him a couple times this summer, I look forward to following the young prospect this season at Bellevue East.
John Sims IV John Sims IV 5’7″ | PG Omaha Westview | 2025 State NE is the second Westview prospect on this list. Sims may be the toughest kid on these rankings, pound for pound. While coaches may look to write him off because of his height, they should think again. His heart and passion for the game shine. When I saw Sims play this summer with Omaha Elite, he fit right in… not only because of his elite skillset, but also because of his toughness and confidence. Last season for Westview, Sims averaged over 8 points per game, which is a lot for a Sophomore. He is crafty with the ball in his hands, and can hit really tough shots off of the bounce or the catch. Sims IV is another prospect that I expect to have a great Junior year.
