Expert Analysis
Jack Pfeiffer | Prep Hoops Scout
Jimeto, a Colorado native and member of the 2026 class, showed out this weekend. He is an elite scoring option, being able to get a bucket in a variety of ways from all three levels. He is a high flyer and loves to play above the rim. He is very smooth and plays at his own pace, never looking sped up. Orji is committed to Division 2 Regis University in Denver, as he will be a player to watch in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Orji at Jefferson Academy is making a major impact at 6’6”, showing he can do it all inside and on the perimeter. Averaging 22.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, he dominates the paint with strong finishes and consistently cleans the glass. Orji is also a threat from the corner three, stretching defenses and making it hard for opponents to leave him open. His combination of size, scoring versatility and rebounding ability makes him a cornerstone and a player opponents have to account for every possession

Orji is the top player in the state that nobody is talking about. His stats are like nobody else in the class, but I feel that we just needed to see him a bit more before we pulled the trigger on him. Now that we have – he’s arrived. He’s going to make one of the bigger jumps in the rankings. We’ve seen him against other top players in the class, and quite frankly, it wasn’t close. He scores with ease, has the size and athleticism to be a next-level player, and is a player that more eyes should be on. We liked what we saw from him this summer, and we are excited to see more this upcoming year.

Few players made a bigger jump than Orji in our rankings as he moved up over 70 spots. Thing is, he earned it. The 6’5 forward was a double-double machine as he averaged 18.2 points and 10 rebounds a game as a junior, while also anchoring the paint defensively. His physical presence and willingness to take over games made him the focal point at Jefferson Academy as he willed them to victories. With a young roster around him, Orji will take on even more responsibility this season, and he looks built for it. I expect an even bigger rise and for him to turn more heads along the way.

A notable athlete who can finish above the rim, Orji has provided impactful downhill scoring over and over for Jefferson Academy. Few names in this league have a shot of slowing down the forward once with a head of steam, given the strength and improved handle to deal with opposing pressure. On the opposite end, Orji has proven that he can switch onto both forwards and some bigger guards, a truly valuable name within this group’s context. Jefferson Academy currently sits at 13-2 and 4-1 in league play, with their league specific only loss to Kent Denver.

Orji has found success over at Jefferson Academy, going 7-1 so far this season. The athletic forward is comfortable throwing down thunderous dunks, making opposing defenses pay for attempting to slow him down. Putting up a double double through his first few games while contributing 35% from distance, Orji is quickly becoming a must follow name for collegiate programs. He has been exceptional on the defensive side, holding his own against a wide range of positions due to his strength and mobility.

An active play finisher around the basket, Orji brings in soft touch around the basket, especially efficient while getting to the right hand. Fairly strong at around 6’3, he has often been tasked with taking on the biggest opponents with Jefferson Academy.
