Hernandez has all the tools to take a significant step forward for Castle View this season. At 6’6” he brings excellent size and versatility, and last season he consistently showed an ability to make tough baskets and come through with clutch plays when his team needed them most. He finished the year averaging 10.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, but his impact often went beyond the box score. One of the most encouraging signs was how well he performed against strong competition, proving he can rise to the occasion in big moments. As he continues to develop physically and refine his offensive game, there is reason to believe both his production and overall influence will increase. Hernandez looks poised for a bigger role and could emerge as one of the key difference makers for Castle View this season
Hernandez was already the team’s go-to scorer a season ago, but he looked certainly more comfortable as the weekend progressed, particularly in the matchup against Fort Collins, where he settled into his game and started hunting opportunities offensively. Once he found his rhythm on the perimeter, everything else opened up. He competed hard, played with confidence, and attacked with a purpose. He went on some mini scoring runs by himself to keep Castle View in it, and they look like they have more pieces around him that will allow his game to be a bit more free-flowing as well. I liked how aggressive he looked. Castle View is going to need that version of him moving forward but was a solid showing from him this weekend.

emerged as a vital, versatile threat for Castle View this past season, making the most of his lengthy 6’6 frame to cause headaches for unlucky opponents tasked with guarding him. Leading the Sabercats’ offensive efforts with 10.6 PPG, Hernandez proved he could score from anywhere, notably leading the team in three-point efficiency. He was equally effective on the glass, pulling down 4.7 RPG and providing a much-needed interior presence on the defensive end. Hernandez’s ability to stretch the floor while maintaining his rebounding production makes him a high-impact player to watch as he heads into his senior year.

is a lengthy superstar who utilizes his 6’6 frame to swivel and maneuver past defenders to score at will. Averaging 11.1 PPG this year with a successful January and start to 2026, Hernandez’s ceiling is through the roof. Currently ranked 108th in his class, I easily see Hernandez’s name getting put on the map. Hernandez hustles for rebounds and loose balls, with his head on a swivel, seeking out the next play in advance. Look out for the junior to continue taking over the box state.
Hernandez is putting it together as a skilled junior forward who affects the game on both ends of the court. He is also relied upon to affect the game. He stretches defenses with his shooting, attacks closeouts, and uses his size to finish inside. As his aggressiveness increases, so do his opportunities, especially on the glass. His activity and versatility have made Castle View more dynamic, and he’s trending toward a breakout junior season as an under-the-radar threat.
Hernandez brought toughness and control inside. What I liked was how he was rebounding out of the area and finishing through contact. He uses his body well, boxes out consistently, and battles for positioning. His physicality and rebounding instincts were on full display, and he even initiated the break after pulling down boards. Hernandez is a gritty forward who delivered a few breakout performances. He’s a player heading into Junior season that we are excited to see more of.
