Thomas is a high IQ guard who continued to show off his shooting touch from different levels, and his intent on seeking out contact when attacking the paint which resulted in numerous trips to the foul line. He does a great job owning his space while working off the bounce, cutting off defenders on drives, navigating options and playing with patience on ball screens, and rarely giving back position once he has an advantage.
When I watch Thomas, the things that stand out are his poise, control, and a really impressive calmness in his shots. He does it at each level too, whether it’s reading ball screens on the perimeter to work for open threes, creating space in the midrange and getting on balance, or attacking the rim. He just knows where his windows are going to be and exhibits a high level of control of their offense.
Thomas has shown a lot to like in his first season at Annie Wright. He’s already got some pure shot-making ability from different levels, has flashed some athleticism that should show up in a much bigger way down the line, and possesses a level of poise that helps him slow the game down. You can really see his vision for the game in some of his contested shots around the paint. He’s able to feel space closing and get good shots off where other players might rush or even pass up looks.
Another top freshman guard in the state who is the son of an NBA legend. James is tough guard who attacks the bucket relentlessly and has a tight handle with the ball. He stops on a dime to hit mid-range shots with ease and also finishes through contact in the paint at a high level. His game is advanced and is a rising prospect in the entire state.

. The Annie Wright freshman belonged out there, from his ability to shed defenders off the dribble, to his ability to protect his shots at the rim, to his ball control and command of the offense. He keeps things simple, plays on balance, and uses his change of speeds to attack angles and be efficient with his movements. Passes were on target and with good zip from different spots on the floor, and he made quick decisions. The ball never stuck with him; he was either getting guys in position, attacking, or keeping the ball flowing.
High IQ point guard who understands how to manipulate defenders with change of pace, does extremely well holding secondary defenders in limbo on pick and rolls, and sees the floor well from different ranges and positions. Can play fast or slow, looks up the court to push the ball ahead off inbounds and outlets, but also displays great patience in the half-court, and can knock down the outside shot at a good clip.
