The Annie Wright point guard immediately looked to be a step ahead of the field at the camp in regards to his court recognition and ability to see, react, and execute. Got into gaps under control, made shots from different levels when he had space, and played with a good motor on both ends of the floor. Did what you expect out of a point guard, set the tone, controlled pace, and was active/positive with his voice and body language as well as his play.

Martinez had a sizable impact on both sides of the floor at the camp. Brought toughness to the defensive end, working through screens, being physical on and off the ball, and just being pesky with pokes, strips, and some sneaky rebounds. Offensively, he was able to really control the flow of the game, getting in and out of the paint, making long advances ahead in transition, and had a secure handle that allowed him to get to different spots and shift the defense.

David is a smaller guard but doesn’t play like it on the court. He stays aggressive on both ends, using his speed and quick reaction time to his advantage. He plays great on-ball defense, staying in front of opposing players with ease and being able to use his fast hand to generate steals or turnovers.

Martinez is a smaller guard at 5-foot-9, but he does a great job getting into ballhandlers defensively, moving his feet, staying in front, and playing solid defense on the perimeter. He’s also shown an understanding of how to dissect different coverages off ball screens and can pick out to the short roll, and hit secondary options when help overcommits.

David, a standout from Annie Wright, has smooth three-point shooting, confidently launching shots from deep with precision. His ability to read defenses quickly allows him to adapt and make smart decisions on the court. With exceptional reaction time, David consistently positions himself effectively to create scoring opportunities. His combination of shooting prowess and court awareness makes him a dynamic offensive threat this season.

Another Annie Wright guard to track, Martinez has some creativity to his game on the offensive end, can get going from 3-point range, and competes on the defensive end. He’ll have opportunities to play on and off the ball this winter and has the ability to be a scoring/passing threat with his vision and reads.

Annie Wright will have a vastly different looking team this winter, and Martinez looks like someone who will come in and have an instant impact. He can shoot the lights out from deep, is crafty with his dribble, and has shown he can play at different speeds to get into the paint.
