Sophomore ID Camp: Team 2 Evals

We continue to work through our evaluations from the Prep Hoops Sophomore ID Camp. We are taking our live evaluations, combined with film study, and are highlighting each player from each team at the camp. Here, we have breakdowns of the ten players from Team 2. Stay tuned as we continue our review of the Sophomore ID Camp.    Weir brought some good energy to the camp and really put forth the effort to get in on plays. Did a great job trying to crash in for boards from the perimeter, gave those extra efforts to tip some balls out and knock rebounds away from opponents. Also made some effective dives and backdoor cuts working off of his teammates drives and paint touches, as well as showcasing the ability to cash in on some shots from behind the arc.     Hansen was one of the higher IQ players at the camp, showcasing his ability to pick his spots, read defenses, and do a lot of little things well that helped him succeed throughout the day. Has good touch from different levels, and also identified good lanes to attack while playing under control. Was a good communicator and even found ways to anticipate rebounding lanes to snag a couple of offensive boards and put backs. Just a heady player who played the right way.     Pasupathi showed some good reactions on closeouts and a readiness to meet his man each time the ball swung his way outside. Was in pretty good position in help side defense and was quick to go from defense to offense and join the charge in transition. He gave good energy throughout the day and was willing to make the extra passes.     Martinez had a sizable impact on both sides of the floor at the camp. Brought toughness to the defensive end, working through screens, being physical on and off the ball, and just being pesky with pokes, strips, and some sneaky rebounds. Offensively, he was able to really control the flow of the game, getting in and out of the paint, making long advances ahead in transition, and had a secure handle that allowed him to get to different spots and shift the defense.     Alo showed some spunk defensively, using his quick feet to stay in front of ball handlers and showing some toughness when switched on to bigger guys down low. Has the ability to get some penetration with his quickness and was making little plays with his superb reactions. Also looks to have a smooth jumper in the short to midrange that he was able to get to off the dribble with some smart footwork.     Ghassemieh played with a solid motor, working on defense, getting his hands in on the rock both on and off the ball. Helped his team defense by staying in the right spots one or two passes away, contributing to closing up driving lanes and not letting guys get easy paint touches. Also showed off the ability to space the floor a bit from 3-point range.     One of the top shooters at the event, Nettleton was knocking down threes off the catch, off the dribble, in the half coming off screens, in transition getting to his spots, and really caught fire in one of their later games of the day. Showed some craftiness with his moves to create space, and used that handle and footwork to get to get to the hoop, split defenders, and finish around bodies. Pretty impressive day for the young Tahoma guard.     Ross was one of the more impressive slashers over the course of the camp. Showed he can attack the hoop fast off one foot, strong off two, and was ready to change direction in tight spots. Had some great pickups in traffic and just had an inherent feel for where space was. Showed some great energy too, diving for loose balls, but also getting hyped after hustle plays and building energy with his teammates.     Lin is a very skilled perimeter player who showed off his impressive strength and physicality at the camp. He's a kid who can handle contact, remain on balance, and made plays from all over the court. Can knock down the outside shot, hit midrange pull-ups, was effective getting to the hoop, and also displayed good vision to execute big skips after pulling the defense one direction, and the ability to pick out cutters and runners.     Kooy is a decently crafty lefty guard who showed the strength to create downhill and play through contact. Had several strong drives through the heart of the defense, and also found room in the middle cutting off of teammates attacks. Decent athlete and also displayed the ability to strike from long-range.
