McKnight was an electrical factory this weekend. He’s the type of point guard that’s suited perfectly for this Durant team that’s full oh mobile, high flying forwards to throw a variety of lobs to in transition. In his first two seasons of high school, it was safe to say that McKnight’s first instinct was to score, but he seems to be reading the floor as a table-setter at an extremely high level. Whenever a fastbreak opportunity presents, he uses his blazing end-to-end speed to put pressure on the rim before dumping it off to one of his teammates to finish the job emphatically. When he didn’t have an advantage in getting all the way to the cup, McKnight slowed the pace to create the necessary space to throw perfect lobs above the rim for guys like

to slam home.
This weekend he embraced his command on the ball and ability to dictate the defense with his eyes. Once he shared the sugar with the rest of his team and they were rolling on all cylinders, he’d tap into his mid-range shooting or cupping the ball on drives as if he were a running back at the goal line where he maintained body control and concentration through finishes.
McKnight averaged 14.7PPG, 5.7APG, 3.7RPG and 1.7SPG as Durant finished 2-1.

One of the top underclassmen scorers on the Nike Scholastic circuit, McKnight Jr had an excellent season with the ball in his hands a lot for Long Island Lutheran. Required to make plays and shots on a nightly basis, McKnight Jr had some monster offensive games with scoring explosions. Interested to see how he looks this summer in grassroots games as he is very prepared for any type of defense that will be thrown at him.

I think every time I see Long Island Lutheran, McKnight Jr is making shots consistently from beyond the arc. Today, he went 5/6 from 3-point range in a tight victory over Tennessee Collegiate Academy that significantly helps their odds of making it to Augusta for the Nike Scholastic Championships. McKnight Jr also sat down to defend the ball aggressively numerous times throughout the game, forcing bad shots despite his smaller frame. One of the more talented lead guards in the 2027 class, McKnight Jr is a nationally known name who has continued to impress this season.

McKnight has been putting up big-time performances and consistently showing he can impact winning at a high level. He’s a true downhill guard who plays with force and doesn’t hesitate to attack the paint. McKnight uses his strength to his advantage, absorbing contact and still finishing through traffic. He does a great job getting downhill off the catch or the bounce, putting constant pressure on the rim and the defense. As an aggressive scorer, he can create his own shot and make defenses pay when they give him space. What stands out is his ability to keep his head up while attacking and find teammates when help defenders collapse. He’s the type of guard who can control tempo, generate paint touches, and create offense for everyone on the floor.

Battling injuries, McKnight Jr has become the primary creator for one of the most talented teams in the country. Having a lot of success on floaters, McKnight Jr worked well in the pick and roll against drop coverage to score. Also taking care of the basketball, McKnight Jr had a good balance of looking to score and looking to distribute on Sunday. Impressed with his ability to stay in attack mode while also not forcing the issue. One of the more talented lead guards in the 2027 class nationally.

Highs and lows for McKnight throughout the weekend as LuHi was without Dylan Mingo, which left McKnight to shoulder the majority of on-ball playmaking and initiating. As usual, he got downhill and did a nice job of initiating contact on his path to the rim. McKnight is doing a better job of maintaining balance and control to focus on finishing the play rather than betting on a whistle from the refs. His sturdy frame and soft touch make it a tough task for defenders to anticipate how he’s going to finish once he makes it into the painted area. McKnight plays with great intensity that can fuel others around him. His best outing came against Bishop McNamara and a group of names that he is no stranger to going to war against from his DeMatha days. McKnight finished that win with 16 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Becoming more of a playmaker for others and continuing to develop his outside shot with consistency will be key factors moving forward.

He filled in perfectly as the lead guard, maintaining the tempo. He connected on a right‑corner three and a catch‑and‑shoot three. He used his speed and quickness to create plays. During his limited time on the floor, his impact was evident, and LuHi pulled away with the game.
