About Isaiah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a long, athletic guard with a nice stroke from outside but also an ability to get to and finish at the rim. I've improved tremendously on the defensive side of the ball and finished third on my team in rebounding despite coming off the bench all season for a senior-heavy team that finished 22-5. I've also added a little over 15 pounds of muscle to my frame in the last year.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm a student of the game and a competitor. I want to win at all costs and and am willing to do the extra work necessary to make it happen. I demand much of myself and those around me. I want to improve every single day.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

National Honor Society National Technical Honor Society Several state level awards from IASB (Indiana Association of School Broadcasters) for my work as the Sports Director at SBS-TV/WETL, the school news network

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed leadership skills and value teamwork as a result of being part of a championship program. I see what it takes to win and know that not any one guy can do it themselves-but it takes every guy being a leader in his own way to get things done! We've also done a number of community service projects over my years with Riley and I really love giving back to the community!

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My mom almost died twice in the last 5 years. First, she was in a motorcycle accident which resulted in her breaking her back, both legs, and 8 ribs, among other things. She healed up and then two years later an oncoming car crossed the center line and hit her head on in her car. This time she broke her right leg, wrist, 6 ribs, punctured a lung, etc. We're still dealing with it but she's tough.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm pretty open to any and all opportunities and have a variety of interests in terms of what I want to study. Academics are important to me though. I wouldn't mind being close to home but would travel for the right fit. Want to play somewhere that it matters. Def looking for winning culture. Believer in Christ and certainly open to Christ-based education.

You always know that South Bend Riley senior wing Isaiah Packer Isaiah Packer Isaiah Packer 6'4" | SG South Bend Riley | 2026 State IN is a player you can’t leave alone on the wing, and while that was true during the first round of the Phil Cox Memorial Tournament on Tuesday, I felt like he showed a little bit more of his game. The big thing I saw out of Packer was not only his high-level shot-making but also what he was doing on the defensive end. I thought he played some sticky defense as well as being super aggressive on the defensive glass. He added 10 points to go along with the great defense he showed last Tuesday.
