Melecio’s ability to create his own shot and crash the glass from the perimeter makes him one of the most polished offensive threats in the Colorado Springs area. Featuring a lethal offensive arsenal and poise beyond his years, in addition to a quick release off the catch, he is quickly becoming a must-watch player who’s proven himself time and time again.

Melecio continues to trend upwards from the way he drives Rampart’s success on both ends of the floor. Averaging 14.1 points, he’s more than just a scorer and he brings relentless energy, attacks the rim without hesitation and plays with a fearlessness that sets the tone for his team. A true do it all player, he contributes in every facet of the game, whether it’s finishing tough, creating opportunities for teammates, or making hustle plays on defense. Melecio has emerged as a true difference maker and a constant problem for opposing defenses. A legitimate three level scorer, he can hurt teams from deep, the midrange, or by putting the ball on the deck and attacking the rim, where his athleticism allows him to finish above the basket. What makes him even more impactful is the effort he brings on the other end. He plays with strength and intensity defensively, crashes the glass and is always hunting for blocks to change momentum. With his scoring versatility and two way presence, Melecio gives Rampart a reliable weapon who can tilt games in their favor

Melecio is a bit of a spark plug given his off the dribble scoring ability, comfortable stepping into threes or creating space one on one in the mid-range. Bringing a wide reach to create a bit more space than most guards, there are not many guys with his tools and upside should he continue to improve his efficiency. 

A skilled downhill playmaker who brings notable size in the backcourt, Melecio continues to show his offensive impact throughout the spring. Active attacking closeouts for drives, they do well putting immediate pressure on the rim. Capable of making the extra pass should help arrive, Melecio brings quick instincts with the ball. Defensively, his wide reach and quick instincts have allowed the guard to capitalize on sloppy passes, converting a swath of transition layups. Of course, the guard’s shooting gravity along the perimeter initially draws out the opposing defense, bringing in a well rounded score first perimeter skillset.
