Camp settings tend to be dominated by scorers, but it was VanWagner’s ability to effect the game without putting the ball in the basket that really made him shine. He consistently grabbed rebounds and started the break the other way, either showcasing his speed and vision as he found teammates in transition, or making the smart read and advancing the ball up the floor when it was called for. A good finisher at the rim and shooter from three, VanWagner also had moments where he did showcase his full offensive arsenal. Look for him to be a big part of new-look Kimball Union Academy (NH) this season.
