Gian plays on a phenomenal team at The Academy , so in some matchups it’s easy for his scoring to get overshadowed. But even if it’s not on the score sheet, Gian finds ways to make his presence felt.
He’s a very frustrating defender to play against; he has a knack for getting in the head of his defender and forcing them to make a mistake.
And on offense, he’s an extremely skilled 3-point shooter, and is an outstanding ball-handler, who can bury a devastating midrange jumper. He’s very slippery getting to the hoop, and is one of several players in this lineup who is a nightmare to match up against if you’re a defender.
Gian averaged over 22 points at The Academy ‘s last tournament, and his scoring was not quite as needed this weekend. But was still scoring in double figures every game, and making life difficult for opposing offenses.

Dula-Ogon really tuned heads last night. This young man can hoop. He’s a fearless shooter and was connecting in this game. Dula-Ogon hit a wing 3 and buried a contested corner 3. But he’s not just a shooter. As Canton moved out and closed harder, Dula-Ogon started attacking the rim. Then he was able to see and find lanes and get downhill. Dula-Ogon did a nice job finishing and drawing fouls. I don’t have the exact numbers, but it felt like he shot a ton of free throws and maybe missed 1.

No idea what his stat line was and it doesn’t really matter to me. I saw a young player that was ready for the physicality and intensity of varsity basketball. I’ve seen his ball skills and shooting in showcases and camps. But it was nice to see him stand his ground in big moments of a high school game. Dula-ogon is just a really talented young player.

A quick guard that would be defined as a gamer. Can handle it or fill the wing position if necessary. Plays with a couple other solid guards and can fill whatever roll is asked 1 – 3. Part of a team that triumphed to the championship game with a well-coached and disciplined scheme throughout entire weekend knocking off a couple shoe circuit teams. Converted on buckets in transition with one being an And1. Knocked down a couple trey balls with confidence in his shot. Kept pace with a really quick opponent in early afternoon game on Sunday.

Dula-Ogon was the hero of Friday night’s game as The Academy knocked off Progeny UAA 68-67. The 5’10” left-handed guard pulled up from the elbow and made the jump shot while being fouled in the final seconds. That And-1 proved to be enough to win the game. He finished with 17 points in the contest.

Dula-Ogon was impressive all game long in terms how he handled the size and athleticism of Progeny UAA. The smaller, left-handed guard was able to get to his spots without getting sped up and had no issue finding ways to score against much larger defenders. Then, he finished the game with an And-1 elbow jump shot that proved to be the game winner. Dula-Ogon scored 17 points in the win for The Academy 15u.
