This sharp-shooting left-handed guard poured in 25 points on Tuesday night in New Palestine’s 64-55 win over Franklin Community. Darrah recently visited and picked up an offer from Manchester. He is a solid under-the-radar unsigned senior for small college programs that value catch-and-shoot ability to take a look at as the season winds down.

It was a tough day for New Palestine as Cardinal Ritter came back to beat them 70-66 in the morning and then the Dragons fell to Blackhawk Christian 73-62 in the afternoon. However, this 6’0″ sharpshooter had a solid day individually. Darrah, a lefty catch-and-shoot specialist, scored 21 points in their first game and then had 11 in their second contest.

Darrah was able to play his way into a role as a sophomore and junior on very good New Palestine High School teams due to his shooting ability. However, now the 6’0″ left-handed guard will be asked to be one of the go-to scorers for the first time in his career. Look for his ability to get hot from beyond the arc to help the Dragons pick up some of the scoring the lost to graduation. We are sort of calling our shot that Darrah will put up some big time three-point shooting numbers as a senior.

It appears that New Palestine has found some pieces to step up and fill some very big shoes left by graduation. Darrah, a sharp-shooting left-handed guard, is one of those pieces who will seamlessly step into a larger role. He helped the Dragons go 2-0 on Friday night scoring 25 points in a win over South Ripley and then 19 points in a win over Evansville Bosse.

New Palestine brings back a lot of production from last season’s Sectional championship team including plenty of backcourt talent. Darrah played a rotation role for New Pal last season as a sophomore, but showcased his ability as a go-to scorer throughout the spring and summer with All Area Basketball. His shooting prowess and continued growth as a shot-creator will give the Dragons yet another talented scoring threat this coming season.

Darrah put up some massive scoring numbers on a consistent basis through the spring on the Prep Hoops Circuit and we look forward to seeing more of that through July. The smaller guard is a good playmaker with the ball in his hands showcasing the ability to create his own shot at a variety of different levels. As a sophomore, Darrah played a valuable role off of the bench for the Dragons on their way to a Sectional 9 championship. He makes his debut in our rankings at #120 in the state.

There is a lot of talent coming through New Palestine High School right now and this 5’10” guard is certainly one to keep an eye on. Darrah has put up some huge scoring numbers this spring with All Area Basketball showcasing his gravity as a shooter and ability to attack downhill with the ball in his hands. He recently averaged over 20 points per game at the Prep Hoops Circuit Havoc in the Heartland while still leading his team in assists as well. The Dragons have a lot of talent in the backcourt right now, but Darrah was able to carve out a valuable reserve role as a sophomore for a Sectional championship team.
