Colorado Lightning had a few standout players, and they got our attention at a tournament a couple of weeks ago. A player who stood out for me was their forward, Ethan Kitson Ethan Kitson 6'3" | C CO . Kitson flashed tools that are difficult to ignore at this age group. He is not afraid to use his size and length to alter shots consistently while also showing mobility running the floor in transition. Kitson crashed the offensive glass in multiple games, which showed it wasn’t just a good game, he’s very active around the rim and is a glue guy full of energy and impactful plays. As he develops, we want to see how he embraces the physical play as he has instincts that say that he’s worth monitoring for the rest of the Summer. He makes the watch list this go round. 

Kitson utilized his size and length to make a noticeable impact, particularly on the defensive end. He was effective at altering shots around the rim, using his height to contest attempts and make it difficult for opponents to score inside. Kitson also made his presence felt on the offensive glass, crashing aggressively and creating second chance opportunities for his team. His ability to run the floor in transition added another layer to his game, as he consistently got up the court and positioned himself for easy scoring chances. With his combination of size, effort and mobility, Kitson has the tools to develop into a strong interior presence.
