Elijah is a Swiss army knife type of player for New Berlin West. They don’t start with a ton of size, so Elijah is often found battling in the post with bigger forwards, but he also has the agility to be a lockdown perimeter defender. He’s a gritty defender on the ball, rebounds at a high level, and has quick hands to come up with turnovers. Elijah excels in the open floor where he can make smart reads with the ball in his hands, acting as a facilitator or finisher. Someone you’ll often find stuffing the box score with points, rebounds, and assists.

Elijah put together a huge game for Team Herro in a win over MN Crossfire . Right out of the gate he was finding ways to get two feet in the paint, and from there was able to find his bigs stepping in from the dunker spot for good looks. As the game went on, Elijah was making plays with his ball pressure defensively, and showcased some crafty finishing ability at the rim. In a tie game with seconds remaining, Elijah drove hard, elevated into a defender’s body, and kept his chin at the rim as he converted on a game winning lay-up.

Elijah had a strong showing for 24:Up on Saturday morning. The defense just couldn’t keep him out of the paint, as he has such a quick first step with the ball. Elijah was getting into the lane at will to kick it out to his open shooters on the perimeter. He created countless good looks for his teammates this way. If the gap was there though he wasn’t afraid to get all the way to the rim and finish. Showcased a lightning quick spin move to evade defenders in the lane. Later in the day I saw him take flight for a transition dunk over a defender on the next court over.
