About Durell

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a shooting guard that can also function has a small or power forward. I am still growing but know how to use my height against smaller guards and quickness and agility against the bigs. I can also handle the ball really well and see the floor to make great plays with my teammates. I love to shoot but still look out for opportunities for others and consider myself a great team player.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Mentally I would say I am solid. I play with great confidence and continue to shoot and make plays even when I do not feel I am playing at my best. I enjoy hanging out with my teammates and friends. I have a even-spirited personality and get along with anybody.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Jack and Jill of America organization Captain Shreve High School boys basketball program

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

My family and I are a member of the Jack and Jill of America Red River Chapter. I attend monthly teen meetings and activities in which we complete community service duties. This organization has helped me learn how to conduct business in a meeting setting, interact with people and serve my community. I am a junior in high school and showcase team leadership qualities on my basketball team.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Thankfully, I am blessed to not have faced anything significantly challenging.

What type of college are you looking for?

A university that focuses on personal development, education and has a great sports program. I would love to be apart of a school community that has a great culture.
