Long, athletic, and very smooth with the ball. I really like his body control and footwork off the bounce and into a finish. He hit a big 3 late in game from the corner in a game I watched. Deng is most impressive at his ability to get to the rim and finish.

Mayen set the tone for Sanford Sports with his size, athleticism, and ability to get out in transition. Whether leading the break or sprinting the lane, he was a constant threat to get to the rim. Mayen’s body control stood out—he decelerated smoothly in traffic, allowing him to make smart, under-control decisions in the paint. His aggressive slashing style led to repeated trips to the free throw line and opened up space for others.

Deng has nice length and has an overall skillset that is impressive for a 14U prospect. He’s so smooth and composed with the ball. He doesn’t get sped up and an average observer could notice this. He can score from all over and is a great knockdown 3-point shooter.
